Summary

  • You need not be a range employee or a shooting instructor to find tremendous value in this class.  Why?  Because while everyone on the range is responsible for safety, not everyone on the range—including occupants of adjacent range bays—has the skill, attentiveness, sense of courtesy, or even the moral rectitude to behave in a safe manner.  Simply put, if you have a pulse and intend to set foot on a range, this training is important for you.
  • Develop your powers of observation and refine your awareness so that you and your range-mates can enjoy the day’s shooting activities safely.

The NRA Says...

  • Develops NRA-Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
  • This course is nine hours long and is conducted in a classroom and at a shooting facility.  Each Range Safety Officer Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and a Course Evaluation form.

Class Policies

  • Each class session must reach an enrollment “tipping point” in order to proceed as planned.  In the event that the tipping point is not reached, we will contact you to discuss options.
  • All adult MoD students must submit a photo of their current driver’s license or other state or federal ID prior to class.  This is used for class security and for our records.
